KDF CONTRIBUTES TO KENYA’S BOXING TEAM GLORY IN DRC

Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) featherweight Senior Sapper Samuel Njau scooped a gold medal on Saturday, 9th April 2022 to propel Kenya’s boxing team to glory after overwhelming Bilingo Massala of Congo Brazzaville during the finals of the African Zone 3 boxing championship in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

His win increased Kenya’s gold medal tally to six, effectively placing the Country on top in the championship.

Lance Corporal Victor Odhiambo and Lightweight Sergeant Nick Okoth won silver and bronze medals respectively contributing to the great performance.

Featherweight Corporal Isaack Mejar and Corporal Edwin Okongo were also among 22 boxers flying the Kenyan flag in the championship.

The championship was held at the Studio Maman Angebi Hall in Kinshasa.
