DEFENCE CS PRESENTS THE REPORT ON THE KENYA AIR FORCE HELICOPTER THAT CRASHED TO THE PRESIDENT

The Cabinet Secretary Defence Hon. Soipan Tuya today presented the report on the Kenya Air Force Bell UH-1H-II (Huey) Helicopter KAF 1501 that crashed at Sindar Village, Kaben in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County on 18th April 2024 to President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces H.E Dr William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.

The crash claimed the lives of the then Chief of the Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla and 9 other gallant Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers while on Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) duties in the North Rift region.

Present were Chief of the Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri, Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General John Omenda and Kenya Air Force Commander Major General Fatuma Ahmed.

May God Almighty continue resting the souls of General Ogolla and the 9 heroes and heroine in eternal peace.
