The Tufuzu Youth Development Entrepreneurship Program is designed to empower youth by equipping them with vocational and enterprise development skills. It also aims to support Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) youth dependents by offering accessible, practical, and industry-relevant training. Initiated by the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK), the program is sponsored by the Family Group Foundation and Family Bank Limited.

The three-month course attracted 100 students from various KDF families, providing them with essential skills in electrical work and plumbing.

In his address, General Kahariri commended the graduates for reaching this significant milestone, acknowledging their dedication and perseverance throughout the training. He encouraged them to continue learning and applying their skills to positively impact society.

“As you step into the workforce, I encourage you to practice your expertise with passion. Stay curious, stay adaptable, and always take pride in your work. You have spent hours studying, gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge. Now, as you transition into real-world practice, walk with confidence and execute your skills with excellence,” he stated.

He also expressed gratitude to the program’s partners for ensuring the graduates received the necessary skills and essential toolkits to facilitate future entrepreneurship. He wished the graduates success and encouraged self-employment, emphasizing the value of the skills they had acquired.

I also extend my gratitude to the CDF, the Commander of the Kenya Navy, and the KDF at large for making this program a success. We recognize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a crucial driver of the economy, with technical skills being highly relevant globally. We aspire to train even more KDF dependents with the support of our partners. We appreciate the support from KDF and the presence of the CDF at this event.”
