The Deputy Commander Kenya Army, Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan visited Kenya Army troops deployed in Forward Operation Bases in Wajir and Mandera Counties.
While addressing the troops Maj Gen Hassan appreciated their gallant, dedicated service and exemplary performance in executing their duties. He further lauded them for their diligence in combating terror, efforts that have contributed to sustainable peace and security in the region.
‘’KDF leadership appreciate the work you do and takes cognizance of your spirited efforts of protecting the territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya and promotion of regional peace and security. These efforts have contributed to reduced adversary activities,’’ he said.
Maj Gen Hassan further commended the soldiers for engaging the local residents through the Civil Military Cooperation Activities, which is a critical pillar of promoting peace. He urged them to continue nurturing the good working relationship as it is critical to mission success. He encouraged them to remain vigilant throughout their tour-of-duty so as to degrade all threats to our National Security.
The visit provided a platform for the Deputy Commander to engage the troops on various issues and assess their mission readiness. He was accompanied by Brigadier Joel Maiyo, Commander 4 Brigade among other senior officers and officers.
