On 3rd March 2025, the Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, Bishop Wallace Nga’ng’a, paid a courtesy call on Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Fatuma Ahmed, at the Kenya Air Force Headquarters in Nairobi. The visit was part of the Bishop’s familiarization tour across the three KDF services, following his ordination on 12 October 2024.
Major General Ahmed, welcomed Bishop Nga’ng’a, acknowledging the critical role of the chaplaincy in providing spiritual nourishment, moral guidance, and emotional support to service personnel.
“We are honoured and blessed by your visit to the Kenya Air Force. The chaplaincy plays a vital role in shaping the spiritual and moral fibre of our members, especially in the demanding environment we operate in,” she stated.
Bishop Nga’ng’a praised the Kenya Air Force for their unwavering dedication to duty, particularly in supporting national security operations and humanitarian assistance missions.
“It is humbling and fulfilling to serve the brave men and women of the Kenya Defence Forces. Your selfless service to the nation deserves recognition and continuous prayers. I am here to support you in your spiritual journey as you carry out your noble duties,” he commented.
The chaplaincy plays an important role in enhancing the resilience and emotional well-being of Kenya Air Force personnel. Through regular pastoral care, counselling, and prayer, they empower soldiers to navigate the challenges of military life while upholding the core values of discipline, integrity, and professionalism.
Present during the visit were Deputy Commander KAF, Brigadier Samuel Kipkorir, and other senior officers, including representatives from the Air Force Chaplaincy.
