JCSC COURSE VISIT JOINT TASK FORCE HEAQUARTERS

The Faculty and course participants of Senior Joint Command and Staff Course No. 40 of 2024/2025 visited the Joint Task Force Headquarters (JTF HQs) in the field at Embakasi Garrison on Wednesday, 26th February 2025.

The College delegation led by the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Brigadier David Chesire was received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Eastern Command, Maj Gen Lucas Kuto.

In his remarks to the delegation, the GOC highlighted the importance of understanding the core functions and roles of the JTF HQs in operations to be able to apply the same knowledge during their study at the college and in their future deployments. He emphasized the need to understand the functions of various agencies in an operating environment to be able to integrate them seamlessly in future operations in a multi-agency tasking.

The course participants were taken through a brief and a tour of all Joint Task Force components in the field to understand their functions and how they complement each other in operations for a common end-state.

The visit is part of the comprehensive program the course participants go through while undertaking their carrier course in preparation for future deployment as senior commanders and staff officers at various units within KDF and militaries of allied countries. The current course participants are drawn from KDF and fifteen allied countries.

In his remarks, Brig Chesire reiterated the importance of the practicum engagement in the visit in cementing what the course participants had learned at the college. He thanked the GOC and his dedicated team for the time and immense resources utilized in making the tour a great success and for the continued partnership in training between the two institutions.
