TRAINING AS AN OPERATIONS ENABLER

The Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Tarus, recently visited several Army training institutions in the Isiolo region. The four-day visit, which began on Monday, 24 February 2025, aimed to highlight the crucial role of Army Schools in preparing troops for mission success.

The Army Schools provide training to both Officers and Service Members, equipping them with essential skills necessary for performing their duties. The focus is on leadership, tactical proficiency, technical expertise, and maintaining physical fitness.
During the visit, the Commander emphasized the importance of continuous personal and collective training to ensure the strength of deployable troops for any task that may arise.

He stated, “Your individual and collective training efforts immensely contribute to the Kenya Army’s fulfillment of our mandate. I believe that your commitment to mission readiness, as well as your physical and mental fitness, will lead to our operational success.”

Lieutenant General Tarus also praised the troops’ dedication in the recently concluded Multinational Command Post and Field Training Exercises, including Exercise Justified Accord 2025 and Haraka Storm. He underscored that achieving interoperability is vital in the context of peace support operations.
