INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE VISITS KENYA NAVY BASE, MANDA

The Inspector General (IG) of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, visited the Kenya Navy Base (KNB) Manda on December 23, 2024, during his working tour of troops deployed in Operation Amani Boni (OAB) in Lamu County.

The visit aimed to boost the morale of the troops and acknowledge their significant contributions to peace, security, and stability in the region. IG Kanja also extended his holiday greetings and best wishes for the New Year.

He was warmly received by Brigadier Lazarus Wafula, Commander of KNB Manda, and Brigadier Joel Maiyo, Commander of OAB. During the visit, the leaders engaged in extensive discussions about the security situation in the region, focusing on the progress achieved in ongoing operations within Boni Forest. IG Kanja was also briefed on future plans to sustain and build on the operations’ success.

Accompanying the IG were Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, Police Spokesperson Dr. Resila Onyango, and other senior officers from the National Police Service (NPS).
