Commander Kenya Navy, Major General Paul Otieno, hosted a delegation from Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Maowin on Wednesday, 04 December 2024, in his office at the Kenya Navy Headquarters, Mombasa.
The delegation, led by Commanding Officer PNS Maowin, Captain Humayun Yagoob Awan engaged in discussions with Major General Paul Otieno to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two nations and reinforce their shared commitment to peace and security in the Indian Ocean.
During the visit, personnel from Kenya Navy and PNS Maowin engaged in professional exchanges and cross-ship visits.These activities aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two forces.
Onboard PNS Maowin, Officer Commanding the Special Boat Unit (SBU), Major Vincent Mutua, represented Kenya Navy in table top discussions focusing on critical operational issues such as combating piracy and counter-narcotics operations.
Additionally, as part of the goodwill initiative, the Pakistan Navy team in collaboration with Kenya Navy will conduct a free medical camp at Mvita Health Centre in Mombasa. The medical camp will offer various health services to provide medical assistance to local communities.
Present during the Visit were Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, Commander Kenya Navy Fleet Brigadier Mohamed Shemote, Kenya Navy Chief of Operations, Colonel Philip Mulumba, and Pakistan Defence Attaché to Kenya, Colonel Inam Muhammad Khatak.
