On 28th November 2024, the Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General Fatuma Ahmed visited to the National Air Support Department (NASD).
The NASD, administered by the Kenya Defence Forces, was established to support civil authorities and stakeholders in ensuring the cost-effective, efficient, and optimal utilization of government air assets.
The Commander KAF was received by the Deputy Director of NASD, Colonel George Sakora, who briefed her on the department’s mandate, challenges, and future plans. During her visit, Maj Gen Ahmed toured the infrastructure and various divisions to assess their operational readiness.
In her remarks, Maj Gen Ahmed thanked the NASD team for their excellent work throughout the year.
“NASD is a semi-autonomous government agency mandated to optimally and safely utilize government air assets, which you have achieved commendably,” she said.
Addressing security concerns, Maj Gen Ahmed urged personnel to remain vigilant, especially during the festive season, and to continue upholding the reputation of the Kenya Air Force.
Accompanying the Commander were Principal Staff Officers from KAF Headquarters.
