On 6 November 2024, the outgoing Officer Commanding (OC) of Kenya Signals II Company (KENSIG II Coy), Major Paul Chacha, along with the incoming OC of KENSIG III Coy, Major Stephen Otieno, paid a courtesy visit to MONUSCO Acting Force Commander, Major General Khar Diouf, at MONUSCO Force Headquarters in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Major General Diouf commended Major Chacha for his professionalism and for the exemplary conduct of KENSIG personnel during their deployment. He highlighted KENSIG’s valuable role in providing critical communication support in both routine and urgent operations, acknowledging specific instances where their contributions positively impacted the mission. He extended his best wishes to Major Chacha and his team in their future endeavors.

Welcoming the incoming OC, Major Otieno, Major General Diouf encouraged him and his team to uphold the high standards of professionalism and commitment demonstrated by their predecessors, ensuring a smooth transition during the rotation period.

As a token of appreciation, Major General Diouf presented Major Chacha with a commemorative memento. In return, Major Chacha presented the Acting Force Commander with a traditional Maasai shuka and a beaded Maasai rungu, symbols of respect and authority.
The courtesy call was attended by officers from both companies.
