MOI FORCES ACADEMY JUNIOR SCHOOL VISITS KENYA NAVY

Pupils from Moi Forces Academy Junior School recently embarked on an educational tour of Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe on 5th November 2024. The visit offered the students a unique, hands-on experience in naval operations, contributing to their learning and career exploration.

The tour began at the Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC), where students were introduced to the Full Mission Bridge Simulator and the Damage Control Unit. These facilities allowed them to experience firsthand the skills necessary for the operation and maintenance of naval vessels.

The group then proceeded to the Kenya Navy Fleet, where they were briefed on roles of Kenya Navy ships in safeguarding maritime security. They also toured the Kenya Shipyard Limited (KSL), where they observed shipbuilding and maintenance activities.

This visit provided them with valuable insights into KSL’s critical role in maritime security through the repair and refit of Kenya Navy vessels.

Mrs. Jacqueline Okwaro, Headteacher of Moi Forces Academy Junior School, expressed her gratitude to the Kenya Navy for hosting the tour. She highlighted the importance of such experiences in mentoring and inspiring young students to consider careers within the Kenya Defence Forces.
