KAF HONORS KDF DAY WITH 52-KILOMETRE WALK

On Friday, October 11, 2024, a group of Kenya Air Force (KAF) Officers and Service Members embarked on a 52-kilometer walk from Moi Air Base (MAB), Eastleigh to Engineers Brigade Headquarters at Thika Barracks, Kiambu County.

The event was organized as a prelude to Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Day, honoring the sacrifices and service of KDF personnel.

Eighty Officers and Service Members, led by Colonel Benedetta Kikech, participated in the trek, which was flagged off by Brigadier Bernard Oluoch, MAB Base Commander. Brigadier Oluoch praised the officers for their dedication.

The walk took the participants through diverse landscapes, ranging from bustling urban areas to tranquil rural settings, testing their endurance. However, they remained motivated by a shared sense of unity and purpose.

Upon arrival at Thika Barracks, the team celebrated their achievement, which demonstrated the strength and solidarity of KDF Officers and Service Members. The Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, who was at Thika Barracks, praised the team for their perseverance and encouraged them to continue organizing similar events to promote unity and physical endurance.
Other senior officers who participated in the walk included Col Nicholas Muhu, Senior Medical Officer at Moi Air Base Aviation Hospital, Col Desmond Mango’ka, Col Jacinta Ngano, and Col Rachel Kamui. The event underscored the Kenya Air Force’s commitment to the values of service, honor, and national defense.
