The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, accompanied by Commander Kenya Army, Lt Gen David Tarus, Commander Kenya Air Force, Maj Gen Fatuma Ahmed, and other General and Senior military officers, toured the Ministry of Defence pavilion at the Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF) on Monday, 23rd September 2024.
General Kahariri commended the participants managing the KDF exhibitions for their efforts in aligning with this year’s theme: “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”
During the tour, the CDF visited several displays, including those from Strategic Communications (StratCom), the Kenya Army, Kenya Air Force, Kenya Navy, National Defence University-Kenya, KDF Compensation and Welfare, the Directorate of Medical Services, the Disaster Response Unit, Kenya Shipyards Limited, the Kenya Space Agency, Communications Information Systems Maintenance and Innovation Center, Defence Forces Welfare Services, and the Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation, among others. At the StratCom stand, the CDF presented a mock KDF Friday news bulletin.
“I would like to commend you all. I am impressed by the quality of the displays. Let us continue to uphold KDF’s high standards in everything we do here. We must ensure that members of the public who visit our displays leave with a better understanding of the Ministry and KDF. I hope your tireless efforts will earn us several awards,” said General Kahariri at the end of the tour.
The trade fair, which began on 23rd September 2024, will conclude on 29th September 2024.
