KDF CHAPLAINCY INDUCTION SEMINAR COMMENCES

On Monday, 16 September 2024, Brigadier B.J. Korir, Commandant of the Defence Headquarters Camp Admin Unit (DHQ-CAU), officially inaugurated the KDF Chaplaincy inter-denominational induction seminar at the Lieutenant Colonel S. Mwambire Christian Centre, Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.

In his remarks, Brigadier Korir emphasized the significance of the seminar for the inductees, highlighting the importance of spiritual well-being within the KDF.

“KDF grants its spiritual leaders the crucial responsibility of ensuring the welfare of Officers and Service Personnel. As Chaplaincy members, you are expected to take this seminar seriously and serve diligently in your respective areas of responsibility,” he noted. He also praised the continued growth of the Chaplaincy across all KDF camps and installations.

The four-day seminar, themed “Serving with Purpose,” aims to enhance the inductees’ skills on a wide range of topics, including the core roles of Chaplaincy and Catechism in the KDF, interfaith understanding and cooperation, as well as financial management. Participants include recently recruited Roman Catholic, Muslim Maalims and Anglican Church Catechists, from the three services.
Senior KDF religious leaders will facilitate the sessions.
