The Junior Joint Command and Staff Course 099/24 consisting of 50 participants drawn from different Services of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) commenced on 09 Sep 24. The opening ceremony was graced by the Deputy Commandant (Chief Instructor), Joint Command and Staff College, Brig D K Chesire accompanied by the College Leadership team.
The Course is aimed at equipping participants with requisite knowledge and skills to perform Command and Staff duties more effectively and provides the basis for subsequent Command and Staff professional development.
In his address, the CI encouraged the Officers to be responsive to new knowledge so that they can experience transformation through additional skills and ideas. He stressed the importance of peer learning, especially stemming from the different experiences and specializations from the respective Arms and Service that had nominated officers for the Course. He also emphasized on the need to remain focused, commitment to studies and readiness to learn so as to meet expectations of their respective Commands that nominated them for the Course. He concluded by wishing them success during the Course.
