On 19 December 2023, Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi accompanied by his wife, Mrs Joyce Mwangi, paid a routine visit to patients admitted at the Nairobi Regional Hospital (NRH) within Kahawa Garrison. Coming at the onset of the festive season, the VCDF’s visit was meant to cheer up and encourage the patients who are receiving medication at the facility.
As he moved from one patient to another, he wished them quick recovery and shared the season’s greetings and wished them a happy new year.
The VCDF further encouraged the patients to remain strong, as he assured them of Kenya Defence Forces’ support towards their recovery process. He also expressed his gratitude to those injured as a result of combat, for their dedication and selfless sacrifice in service to the nation.
Additionally, the VCDF extended his gratitude to the medical fraternity at the Level IV facility for a job well done in discharging their duties.
During the visit, the VCDF also presented assorted gifts and spent time with the patients as he shared messages of hope.
At the hospital where patients include Service Personnel and their dependants, the VCDF also paid a visit to the New Born Unit where he congratulated the mothers for receiving their bundles of joy.
Lieutenant General Mwangi was accompanied by the Commander Kahawa Garrison, Brigadier Matthew Lenamunai among a host of other senior officers and medical staff.
