KDF troops stationed at Mukutani Forward Operating Base (FOB) under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ (OMU) conducted a humanitarian outreach program for the residents of Mukutani in Baringo County. The move was tailored towards bolstering the cordial relationship between the locals and the security agencies in pursuit of regaining normalcy in the region.
During the event, the soldiers expressed gratitude for the support of the residents and assured them of their commitment to finding a lasting solution to the security challenges in the area. They also discussed the progress made so far and the current security situation, encouraging the locals to maintain their optimism and continue assisting the operation.
This one-day civil-military cooperation initiative included providing medical care for common ailments such as child malnutrition, diarrhea, respiratory infections, and skin infections. These health issues often result from the daily challenges faced by the residents, such as fetching water, gathering firewood, and walking long distances. Additionally, the troops addressed the pressing issue of fresh water scarcity in the area by distributing clean water.
The local residents, represented by their area leaders, expressed their sincere gratitude for the ongoing support from the security agencies and pledged their continued cooperation with the multi-agency team in combating banditry and criminal activities within their environs.
