The Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral Parish today held a family harvest Thanksgiving Mass at Defence Headquarters, Hurlingham, Nairobi County.
The mass was presided over by the Military Ordinariate of Kenya led by Col (Dr) Benjamin Maswili who emphasized the importance of unity within our families.
The Chief Guest, Major General David Ketter, the ACDF P&L, acknowledged the efforts of the clergy and faithful in enabling today’s family day to be a success. He further encouraged the faithful to do more through the guidance of the church’s teachings in order to gain more from God.
Vice Moderator of the Diocesan Pastorate Council, Ms. Beatrice Mitoko, stated that family day is a day of thanksgiving for the much the Lord has done. She further stated that it’s the 6th Diocesan family day since its inception in 2018.
During the family day Eucharistic Celebration, Col Dr Benjamin Maswili has been mandated by the Kenya Defence Forces to continue with his military Ordinariate duties until further notice This is after it had been earlier stated that he was going for a terminal leave.
In attendance was the Chief Guest of Honour, Maj Gen D. K. Ketter, the Representative of the rtd Rev of the Diocese of Kitui Fr John Mwandi, the Representative of the diocese of Nakuru Fr James Gachigi, and the National Director of the Pontification Mission Societies Fr Bonaventure Lucindio.
