Defence Principal Secretary Mr. Patrick Mariru has today hosted the Governor of Nairobi City County Hon. Johnson Sakaja who paid him a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi.
The two leaders discussed the progress of the construction of Uhuru and Central Parks that were renovated by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF). The PS noted that the construction works were at an advanced stage and shall be ready for handover to the City County in a few weeks.
He thanked the leadership of the City County for their continued support.
“Our Defence Forces shall continue to support other civil authorities whenever called upon. Recently we actively participated in the construction of Moi Stadium-Embu which was done in record four months and look forward to working together with other agencies because that is part of our Constitutional mandate,” said the PS.
The Governor acknowledged the tremendous work done by the military on the two Parks saying they shall continue collaborating with the military on areas of mutual benefit.
Present during the function were the Vice Chief of Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi, Chief of Infrastructure Brigadier Titus Sokobe and other senior officers from the Directorate of Infrastructure at the Defence Headquarters.
