Key leaders drawn from various levels of Wajir Air Base (WAB) Command, benefited from a two days Welfare Seminar held at the Air Defence Wing Headquarters in Nairobi. The event was graced by the Base Commander WAB Brigadier Stephen Sane
The aim of the seminar was to exchange ideas and sensitize Personnel incharge of welfare matters on policies and procedures which will guide them in discharging their duties.
During the seminar which was facilitated by subject matter experts drawn from the Defence Sacco (DESACCO), Defence Medical Insurance Scheme (DEFMIS) and Defence Forces Comrades Association (DEFOCA), Service personnel were sensitized on psychosocial care, handling physically challenged Personnel at the workplace among other topics.
Speaking during the event, Brig Sane emphasized on the need to invest more in professional training and taking advantage of existing welfare centres, medical care facilities among others to address any challenges to mission readiness. “A mentally stable force attracts national pride and hope”, added Brig Sane.
