HAZARDOUS MATERIAL (HAZMAT) ADVANCE COURSE STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM KENYA ARMY SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING

Students from KDF’s Disaster Response Battalion graduated in HAZMAT Advance Course from School of Military Engineering (SOME).

The students gain knowledge and skills in handling Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) material, harzadous materials’ personal protective equipment (PPEs), HAZMAT Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and operating HAZMAT equipment.

The ceremony was officiated by Commandant SOME Colonel Peter Wanga accompanied by DRB’s 2nd in command Maj Charles Mulei.

Col Wanga advised the graduands to apply the skills in their duties while responding to disasters as well as focusing on their career progression in HAZMAT. The students conducted a demonstration of Mass Casualty Decontamination (MCD) Unit.
