The Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), Lieutenant General Christian Tshiwewe on Wednesday, January 11 2023 visited the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) Headquarters in Goma, North Kivu.
He was received by EACRF Commander Major General Jeff Nyagah who briefed him on the current security situation in Eastern DRC, current EACRF deployment and ongoing and future operations regarding the peace and stability efforts.
Addressing EACRF staff officers present at the meeting, the Chief of General Staff urged Force Headquarters to remain focused and have courage in the execution of its mandate. He encouraged them to always remain objective in the ongoing operations for the success of the peace process in the region.
Present during the visit were 3rd Zone Commander Lieutenant General Marcel Mbangu, Chief of Operations Major General Chico Tshitambwe, 34th Regiment Commander Major General Bruno Mpezo and Deputy EACRF Commander Brigadier General Emanuel Kaputa.
