Kenyan troops deployed in eastern DRC under the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) on Monday, 21 November 2022 conducted joint patrols with their FARDC counterparts in Kibumba area.
During the patrols, the troops identified areas of collaboration to restore normalcy in the troubled east. The EACRF Deputy Force Comander Brigadier General Emmanuel Kaputa accompanied by the Kenyan Contigent Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Denis Obiero stated that since deployment, strategic infrastructure have been secured and plans are at advanced stages for further deployment.
Conflict resolution for peace existence is a collective responsibility and therefore, EACRF, governed by the mandate, calls for a holistic approach in realizing peace and stability within the region for socio-economic development.
